Topics include management of diseases to decrease transmission rates and virulence, the germ theory of disease, antibiotic resistance, human evolution, the history of medicine, and epidemiology. Diseases such as malaria, influenza, HIV/AIDS, and cholera will be used as examples. In-class discussions and simulations will supplement lecture.
